Illinois Valley Quilt guild
A Short History:
The Illinois Valley Quilt Guild began in 1985 when a local minister's wife asked the local paper to publish an article asking interested quilters to meet in the church basement. She was elected the first president and because of her experience guided our start. The guild became a time for companionship, learning new techniques, community service projects and sharing rather than a quilting bee format.
Today the guild has many members. We have education programs, and our service projects have included the LaSalle County Health Department "Have a Mam" program, LaSalle County Special Olympics, the "Lady of Liberty Momument" restoration, and many more.
Meetings...
Meetings are held the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM. The meetings are held at Epworth United Methodist Church, 627 Gentleman Rd, Ottawa, Illinos 61350. (Unless noted in the program schedule).
